Silent Threnody won the semifinal of Koodi
Band Challenge. Audience gave us 31 votes
more than other bands.Thank you! We'll see
you in the final later this autumn!
11.8.2007 Tuukka is back
Tuukka is back from army and he is going
to be our bassist from now on. Heikki
will become our lead guitarist.

9.7.2007 Tuukka goes to army
Next twelve months Tuukka will be in the
army. Heikki Väyrynen will be Tuukka's
replacement during his service.

21.10.2006 New drummer
Teemu Mustonen has decided to leave this
band. New drummer is Matias Ahola.
28.5.2006 Silver
Silent Threnody came second in the finals
of Rock 2006 competition. Listen to Radio
Rockpolis this wednesday and friday at 6pm
to hear our interview.
20.4.2006 Two gigs confirmed
Silent Threnody will perform 27.5. in a
competition Rock 2006 at Ravintola Babao,
Oulu.Raitsu Open Air Festival will be held
at Pudasjärvi 9.7. with Kwan as headliner.
15.3.2006 New bassist
Miikka decided to leave the band, again.
New bass player is Tuukka Kettunen.
23.10.2005 The 20th November released

11.7.2005 We're in the army now
While Joni & Teemu join the army for six
months, updating of website and guestbook
will be delayed. Anyhow, soon the promo cd
will be on sale. More about it later.
9.7.2005 New drummer
Band had to change its drummer due to many
problems with Antti, constant skipping of
rehealsals as one of them. Teemu Mustonen
is our drummer from now on.
31.5.2005 Interview in Rantapohja
Local newspaper Rantapohja has published
our interview today. You can read it here.
22.5.2005 Band competition; 3rd
Just three days before the competition we
were asked to take part in it since some of
the bands had cancelled their perform. We
came 3rd of the six finalists and won 100e.
18.3.2005 Sarvipäärock 9.4.
We are going to perform in Sarvipäärock
thanks to some people who had wished us to
play there. More gigs coming also.
13.1.2005 The 20th November
First studio weekend of upcoming promo, The
20th November (previously called as Beyond),
will be 5.2-6.2 at Mastervox. Studio diary

3.10.2004 New logo
Laura Romppainen designed a great logo for
us. Teemu edited the logo with computer and
this is how it looks from now on.
22.9.2004 Line up changes
Teemu had to start playing solo guitar again
and because two rhythm guitarists weren't
needed, common decision was to keep Joni and
let Jaakko go.
6.8.2004 Silent Threnody logo
We have recently asked few people to design
us a logo. Feel free to design one of your
own and send it to us.
1.8.2004 Beyond delayed
Releasing of new demo will be delayed until
next winter, or possibly to spring 2005 and
the track list has been changed.
20.6.2004 Drummer is down
Antti has cut to his leg with a chainsaw and
won't be able to play for some time. Check
his picture from OYS (hospital) here.
13.6.2004 New line up
New line up has been chosen, and finally
only Samu left the band. Check the new line
up from the band section.
8.6.2004 Beyond
New demo, Beyond, will be recorded during
next fall. It will contain 4 new songs and 3

demo.
6.6.2004 Silent Threnody
CotN has changed its name into Silent
Threnody and moved to www.silentthrenody.com
24.5.2004 Mp3 problems
Few problems with mp3s. More pictures will
be added and those mp3 problems fixed in few
weeks. Then we'll also know more about this
band's future.
5.4.2004 Farewell gig
Band is going to make its final gig with its
original line up 18.5.2004 at PAO. The show
will go on after the gig, but line up and
possibly the name of the band will change.
10.3.2004 Changes
Teemu steps behind keyboards, and the band
will return into its original rehearsal
place. Official IRC channel has been out for
long and won't be coming back.
20.1.2004 Samu and Miikka are out
Samu & Miikka have left the band because of
many reasons, and now it's time to build
this band with players who like to play this
melodical metal. If interested, contact us.
7.12.2003 line up changes
As the band leaves Heikki behind decision is
to try to keep the rest of the band together

got some problems with old channel, and few

1.11.2003 We need Walda-pics
Neither of our cameramen were able to come
to Walda so we are asking you to send us any
digipics you have taken on our gig there.
27.10.2003 New guitarist
Heikki Väyrynen contacted band with interest
and is now a member of the band. It's a pity
we need new promo pics after we finally got
the old ones.
26.10.2003 #childofthenight
We have now an IRC channel #childofthenight

3.10.2003 Gig cancelled
When band arrived to Walda, we were told
there is no gig at all, and there must be a
misunderstanding between band and the crew
of Walda. However we are truly sorry about
this all, and the new date is 31.10.2003.
26.8.2003 Autumn tour begins
We are going live again! First gig of autumn
is at restaurant Amaretto in Pudasjärvi 5.8.

12.6.2003 Guestbook
NEW feature on home page! You can now write
a message to our guestbook or just read the
ones other people have written.
11.4.2003 New guitarist
Teemu becomes nearly-fulltime-singer and new
guitarist, Juho Murtoniemi enters the band.
(Juho left the band few weeks later)
4.4.2003 WINNERS
We have won the band contest KelloRock. Our
interview was shown in magazine Rantapohja
10 April 2003. Teemu & Miikka were given a
special price.
13.3.2003 New drummer
Line up changes. Permanent drummer has come
to band. After our additional drummer had
broken his legs band wanted a permanent
drummer and Antti Pätsi entered.
20.1.2003 New rehearsal place
Band gave its rehearsal place away, now that
we got a new and better one at Samu's home.
21.12.2002 Demo released
Our first demo is released, Shadow pulls you
away.
16.12.2002 Rehearsal place
Band has gained a rehearsal place, but it's
still unsure if we are going to keep it.
